New polypropylene (PP) honeycomb reportedly provides greater strength-to-weight ratio than traditional polyaramid or aluminum honeycombs. The cells of the PP honeycomb are essentially circular rather than hexagonal and are fused together rather than glued. The recyclable honeycomb can be thermoformed and cut to shape easily has energy-absorbing and sound- and vibration-damping properties,and is resistant to fungus, rot,chemicals and moisture.

Honeycomb corecell diameter from 8mm to 12mm,most commonly adopted is 8mm,10mm,12mm can be made according to client request. Honeycomb core can be directly apply into air purify and other fields without tissue on both sides. Corecell wall thicknss can be selected if clients have special requirement.Corecell 8mm density is 88kgs/cubic meter. Corecell 12mm density is 75kgs/cubic meter.

PP honeycomb sheet laminated with polyester tissue on both sides.  This allow better bonding of the honeycomb to different surface panel.  In addition to the tissue,  honeycomb can laminated with a layer of PP film . The film under the tissue acts as a barrier to prevent resin leaking into the core thus save resin consumption in next assembly process Besides there is more stiffness plastic sheet with more thicker tissue.

What are Honeycomb Cores?

    Honeycomb cores are used in the fabrication of lightweight structures. The core material is typically 'sandwiched' between skins and plywood, aluminum, FRP composite material, steel, granite,  solid surface materials,paper etc.  To attach the 'skin' material to the honeycomb core,  a bonding adhesive can be used or the materials can be laminated with polyester or epoxy systems.  The resultant honeycomb panel results in one of the highest strength to weight core constructions available.

   Polycore Technology PP honeycomb can be supplied with both sides laminated with non-woven polyester tissue 45 g/m2.  This allows better bonding of the honeycomb to different panels.  In addition to the tissue,  honeycomb can be supplied with a PP film.  The film under the tissue acts as a barrier to prevent resin leaking into the core and thus save resin consumption.  

   PP hoeneycomb can be easily laminated with different surface panel,such as Fibreglass, wood, stainless Steel,aluminum,foam,pu,marble,paper to form composite panel, composite panel can be complanate,round shape, wave shape and whatever you want. So that is why more and more light weight, stiffness strength composite sandwich panel widely applied in so many fields.

For example: 20mm thickness PP honeycomb weight is only 2.2-2.4kgs/square meter but its compressive strenth high to 2.0Mpa.
